The mall, located at Itoku market, Abeokuta, and owned by the state government, collapsed in the early hours of Friday, May 13, trapping several workers who were on the site.
The State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun was said to have arrived the site shortly after the incident, and joined other officials in coordinating rescue efforts.
A witness said six people, who were earlier removed from the rubbles were rushed to the hospital.
However, contrary to media reports that one person was killed in the incident, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dayo Adeneye , said no one has been confirmed dead yet.
He said five workers sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at State Hospital, ijaiye, Abeokuta, while eight were rescued unhurt.
